Aggressive driving is a problem

Many Missouri motorists have witnessed instances of road rage when they have been behind the wheel, and some may have even acted in that manner themselves. However, that type of behavior is only one form of what the National Highway Traffic Administration refers to as "aggressive driving", and the problem is quite severe.

In 2009, the American Automobile Association conducted a study based on data provided by the NHTSA. It found that between 2003 and 2007, aggressive driving played a part in more than 50 percent of fatal automobile accidents around the country. It classified several different acts as aggressive driving, including following too closely, failing to observe traffic lights or signs, driving in excess of the posted speed limit or too fast for road or weather conditions, and passing in no passing zones.
